Sandra Rodriguez de Paula, founder and chief conservator

Sandra Rodríguez de Paula is an ICON Pathway member with years of experience working with a wide range of materials and artworks from private and public international institutions, and her goal is to provide museum quality conservation for individuals, commercial galleries and institutions. Her practice is guided by the ICON Code of Ethics and is an Icon member working towards Accreditation.

After studying Fine Arts conservation at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), and Masters in Fine Art Conservation at Northumbria University, she obtained several placement and internships (National Library of Spain) that allowed Sandra to earn the prestigious Iberdrola Foundation Fellowship, which was prorogued for a second year (2016-2018). Thanks to this fellowship, she had the opportunity to work at both the Fine Arts Museum of Bilbao and at El Prado Museum in Madrid at their respective conservation departments.

Later, she has worked for private collectors (Zuloaga Collection) and public institutions (Fine Arts Museum of Bilbao). In 2020, Sandra founded Artem Conservation, located in Deptford, South East London and since, has worked with a wide range of clients, from museums and framing studios to private collectors.
